Riley joins a 4 month old baby brother and a 6 year old sister. Baby brother loves to stare at him with big wide eyes and occasionally enjoys a kiss or two from Riley. Big sister loves to give him hugs and lots of treats. He enjoys a little winding creek in his backyard and has made “friends” with a wild cottontail bunny rabbit – they enjoy their daily staring contests. The wild turkeys are a different story – they don’t seem to like having such a big boy in their area, but Riley just watches. The groundhog seems very put out when she has her creek-watching time interupted by Riley’s potty time and Riley is very confused at how she disappears so quickly into that hole. Riley is definitely a couch potato and loves his nap times on a big comfy dog couch. But if Mom is anywhere nearby he decides to sleep on the hardwood floors at her feet instead of the cushy dog bed. Usually a shadow, he follows her into any room she goes to and will lay down wherever he can see what she’s doing. Still a little shy of men, he’ll walk in front of Dad or family and friends but has to turn his head to watch where they’re going to go, and being a bit clumsy will occasionally walk into a wall or open door.
Riley has acclimated well to life off the track and has adapted easily to most of the new and exciting things a busy home has to offer. The only object which he sees as being very scary is an umbrella. The first rainstorm where Mom had to take him out in the rain was definitely an adventure and both ended up soaked with nothing to show for it!!! Riley loves going for car rides and amazes his Dad at how deftly he jumps up into the back of the car landing on all fours. He also adores squeakers and occasionally shows his love for them by playing a tune for Mom and Dad at three a.m.!!!
Riley has been an absolute joy and a blessing for our happy little family. We can’t imagine how we got on without him.

Riley is safe with small dogs and cats and does well with his Greyhound foster brothers and sister. He has already discovered toys and rather enjoys squeaking them and carrying them through the
house. He is settling into his foster home and will be learning the ropes of retired life over the next few days. Stay tuned for further information about this sweet boy.
