Renamed Hobbs for his striking stripes by the “Calvin and Hobbs” loving duo that were adopted by him, Hobbs is as happy and as mischievous as his name implies. He is a ball of pure muscle, and will lean against you for a little petting when he’s feeling needy. He likes to be lovingly helped into the car, as he refuses to jump (on anything – including furniture!) lest his highness be injured. Helping him into a car is not a small feat for an 85 pounder, but his mom and dad manage! Sometimes kids ask if he’s a tiger, and his parents are pretty sure he thinks he IS a tiger himself. He was adopted the same day and to the same folks that fell for Blue, and he couldn’t be more different than his brother. He doesn’t love non-greyhound dogs, though he tolerates them well (with his nose as far into the air as he can manage to let those non-greys know his breed is clearly superior). He loves sneaking into his brother’s kennel for a leftover kernel of food or a hidden unfinished Kong of peanut butter. He is such a gentleman, too, always allowing his brother to exit the door first, and allowing his human-pets to put his head in their laps for a good snuggle. He will be great with kids one day if the couple decides to have their own “Calvin”, as he will let you play with him however you want to play, and he just loves it. Running is his passion, just like his human-dad – they will chase each other around the yard. Even though his human-dad is a national caliber runner, Hobbs usually is the victor of the yard-sprints. Hobbs is a little shier of strangers than his brother, but still loves some sweet gentle attention from anyone. He LOVES other greys, and he loves a mirror just as much (as he can admire his very muscular physique). Hobbs is on record for the only bark of the house (and only once when he was startled.) Though he sleeps most of the day and night, he gives a cute little head-tilt when hungry, enough to nudge you with his cuteness into complying. He’s loving and lovable, and his mom and dad can’t imagine life without his sweet crooked smile!
